Display Branding between songs

Display Branding is the graphic on the Karaoke Player stage when nobody is singing — your logo, a venue loop, or Karaoke Name’s built-in look. It is not the Queue Display running-order window. You see it on the player preview and on the lyrics/visuals Pop Out Window.

The player (and that pop-out) needs The Rig. During Rig beta, an active Controller subscription includes Rig. Plans: The Controller and The Rig.

Upload your default

On the Host Dashboard, expand Display Branding.

  1. The panel is for your default media on stage between songs or as a foreground overlay.
  2. Choose Image or Video, then Choose File and Upload.
  3. Image: PNG, WebP, GIF, or JPEG — max 10 MB. Video: MP4 or WebM — max 50 MB.
  4. Clear removes it. Uploading new media replaces the current default.

That file is your reusable host default. A specific gig can override it in Gig Settings.

Need a different look for one event? Override in Gig Settings (below) — you do not have to change the dashboard default.

Pick the source for tonight

Open Gig Settings (gear on the gig toolbar). Under Display Branding:

  • Built-in — Karaoke Name’s default look. No custom file.
  • My default — the dashboard upload above.
  • Venue's — only if this gig is linked to a venue. If the venue has not uploaded anything, Built-in is used.
  • This gig's — upload image or video for this night only (same Image / Video / Choose File / Upload / Clear controls).

Helper copy: Shown between songs or as a foreground overlay. Built-in, your default, venue, or this gig.

Venues upload on the Venue Dashboard under Display Branding (Hosts who run karaoke at your venue can show this media on the display between songs.). That file is unused until you pick Venue's on the gig. Venue how-to: Your venue dashboard.

Overlay options (not Built-in)

When the source is My default, Venue's, or This gig's:

  • Use transparent background when possible (e.g. show visualizer behind) — lets visualizations show through PNG transparency or a keyed video.
  • Video chroma keyKey colour (default green) and Tolerance (0–100, default 25). Applies when the resolved source is a video.
  • Video loopLoop or Ping-pong.

On the player (Screen tab)

Open the player with Toggle Player, then the Screen tab. From a phone (or any host screen without the karaoke folder), those knobs run on the playback computer — same as Play.

Display Branding has three modes:

  • Default — show branding between songs; hide it while a track plays.
  • Force — keep branding up during playback (logo chrome over the stage). Force also turns on Hide CDG so lyrics do not fight the graphic. Leaving Force turns Hide CDG back off.
  • Hide — do not show branding.

Also on Screen:

  • Visualizer Behind Branding — visualizations draw under the branding overlay. Pair this with the transparent-background gig setting.
  • Show Gig QR Code — join QR on the stage display. If the gig has a password, it is in the join URL. Printing tents: How to print and display your QR codes.

HDMI and Pop Out Window: Connecting your laptop to venue audio and visuals. Beat Ring and Visualization Quality: Understanding Beat Detection and visualizations.
