The Karaoke Player includes real-time visualizations that react to the music. Here's how they work and how to adjust them.
Visualization modes
You can cycle through different visualizer engines (e.g. geometric, particle, or reactive styles). Each mode uses the same beat and frequency data but draws the graphics differently. Pick the one that fits your show.
- Visualization mode – In the player controls, use the "Visualizations" dropdown to choose how the graphics react to the music. Some modes respond more to bass and drums; others spread movement across the frequency range.
Beat Ring and sensitivity
- Beat Ring – When enabled, a ring or pulse appears on the beat. It uses the same beat detection as the rest of the visualizer.
- Sensitivity – If the beat ring (or other visuals) feels too fast or too slow, adjust the Beat Ring intensity or the main visualization sensitivity (if available). Lower values make the reaction subtler; higher values make it more pronounced.
How beat detection works
The player analyses the audio in real time to detect kicks, snares, and overall rhythm. That data drives:
- Flashes and pulses in the visualizations
- The Beat Ring (when enabled)
- Any other effects that "hit" on the beat
If the detection feels off for a particular song or system, tweak the sensitivity or intensity until it looks right in the room.
Tips
- Use Visualization Quality (if available) to balance look and performance on your machine.
- For a calmer look, turn down intensity or choose a less "busy" visualization mode.
- For a high-energy look, increase intensity and pick a mode that reacts strongly to the beat.
Experiment with different modes and settings during soundcheck so you're happy with the look before the show.
