The Karaoke Player includes real-time visualizations that react to the music. Visuals, the venue screen, and background music need The Rig. During Rig beta, an active Controller subscription includes Rig — you do not buy a separate Rig plan today. Plans: The Controller and The Rig.
Open the player with Toggle Player (monitor icon) on the gig toolbar, then use the player controls.
Visualization modes
In the player, the Visualizations dropdown picks how the graphics react to the music. Modes share the same beat and frequency data but draw differently — some lean on bass and drums; others spread movement across the frequency range. Cycle through until the room looks right. You do not need to learn every preset by name.
Beat Ring
- Beat Ring – A toggle in the player effects. When on, a ring or pulse hits on the beat.
- Intensity – With Beat Ring on, a slider sets how strong that pulse is. Lower is subtler; higher is more pronounced.
Visualization Quality
Visualization Quality sets the pop-out window's render resolution, not a separate "look" filter. Choose:
- Low (25%)
- Medium (50%)
- High (75%)
- Native (100%)
Lower values ease the load on the playback machine; Native matches the pop-out's full resolution. This control is for the lyrics/visuals Pop Out Window, not the Queue Display list. From a phone, changing it still applies on the playback computer (the pop-out itself always opens on that machine).
How beat detection works
The player analyses the audio to detect kicks, snares, and overall rhythm. That data drives flashes and pulses in the visualizations and the Beat Ring (when enabled).
Beat Sync in the same panel chooses Reactive (follows the audio live) or Predictive (pre-analyses the song when it loads). Predictive is the usual default. If Predictive is selected, Sensitivity is tight, natural, or wild.
If a song feels off in the room, start with Beat Ring intensity, then Sensitivity — then pick a calmer or busier visualization.
Tips
- For a calmer look, turn Beat Ring intensity down or choose a less busy visualization.
- For a high-energy look, raise intensity and pick a mode that hits hard on the beat.
- If the pop-out stutters on the TV, drop Visualization Quality a step before changing modes.
Experiment during soundcheck so you're happy with the look before the show.
