Karaoke Name has two host plan names: The Controller (queue, songbook, QR, notifications) and The Rig (karaoke player, lyrics/visuals pop-out, background music). Subscribe at Host signup.
Today you can buy The Controller only. During Rig beta, an active Controller subscription includes The Rig — you do not pick a separate Rig plan, and checkout will not sell one.

The Controller
The Controller is the rotation tool. With a valid Controller subscription (including the 30-day trial) you can:
- Create gigs and run Request Pool / Active Queue (Fair piles, peel, host Add)
- Upload Karaoke Catalogues so singers search from their phones
- Display QR Code / Print QR Code, Private gigs, gig code, and password
- Singer notifications (up next / on now / request window)
- Queue Display (list icon) — the running-order TV. That window is not the lyrics player.

The Rig
The Rig is the playback stack on the gig page:
- Toggle Player (monitor icon) — Karaoke Player
- Lyrics/visuals Pop Out Window (not Queue Display)
- Play Track / Enqueue Track once a karaoke folder is mounted
- Background music folder, visualizations, and Display Branding on the player
- Auto Host playback (still needs the folder)
Without Rig access, Toggle Player stays locked. During beta the tooltip is Karaoke Player requires an active Controller subscription. After beta it becomes Karaoke Player requires The Rig — Click to upgrade and opens Unlock The Rig (Maybe Later, or Stripe Manage subscription).
Venue screens: Connecting your laptop to venue audio and visuals. Folders: Songbook and player folders. Visuals: Understanding Beat Detection and visualizations. Auto-advance: Auto Host.
During Rig beta
On signup the heading is Start with The Controller. The Rig card shows INCLUDED, Free with The Controller, and LIMITED TIME BONUS. Helper copy: Normally £24.99/mo. Subscribe to The Controller and unlock our full browser-based player at no extra cost while in beta.
You cannot select The Rig as its own checkout. Continue to Summary starts a Controller subscription. The player, BGM, and visualizations work on that same trial or paid Controller.
There is no published end date for beta. When it ends, Controller-only hosts keep the queue tools; the player needs The Rig.
Trial, price, and billing
Signup billing cycle: Monthly or Yearly (Save ~17%).

Manage or resubscribe
In the account menu, under Subscription:
- Manage subscription — Stripe billing portal (active, trial, or past due, when we have a customer). The button may show Opening billing…
- Resubscribe — if the host plan has lapsed; goes to
/hosts/signup
Cancel from that portal.
If Toggle Player is dimmed during beta, the subscription is not valid yet (or has lapsed) — finish signup or Resubscribe, then refresh the gig page.
